Gold Bar: City at financial risk
Gold Bar is at risk of not meeting its financial obligations, according to the Washington State Auditor’s Office.
The audit released last week said that the city is spending too much in public records requests and pending public records litigation.
The auditor’s report warned the city may not be able to provide current services levels and repaid loans if expenditures keep surpassing revenues.
The city is asking voters this November to approve a property tax levy to cover operating costs. The audit covered from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 of 2011.
