Everett library hosts class on stop-motion animation

If you've ever watched a 6-year-old click-click-clicking a complicated Lego kit into a fully formed jetliner in 645 easy steps, then you know kids don't need a class on Legos.
But how about taking the project a step farther? Lucas Allenbaugh of the Clay Animation Network will teach sixth- through 12th-graders how to create a stop-motion movie using Lego characters and a digital camera.
The workshop will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Everett Public Library. Kids can bring their own cache of Legos or work with the ones supplied.
The young Tim Burton wannabes will learn how to work a digital camera, construct props and backgrounds, and add sound effects and voice-overs.
