Seems Like Yesterday

50 years ago (1962)
Wayne H. Kranick of the Everett Branch of National Bank of Washington attended the fourteenth annual bank study and conference of the Washington Bankers Association at the Hotel Benjamin Franklin in Seattle. At the conference bankers outstanding in their field spoke.
Longshoreman Dick Gray held an ocean sunfish that strayed in Everett Harbor. He and other longshore workers caught the 55-pound fish with a pike pole. Others of the species had been taken off Port Townsend by sports fishermen this season. Sunfish in tropical waters often reached the weight of half a ton.

25 years ago (1987)
This week, the Snohomish County Public Utility District joined other public utilities in the nation in spotlighting public power. The PUD kicked off a sale of between $1 million and $3 million in mini-bonds, sponsored a public power history seminar for local teachers, and was promoting public power awareness.
Lynnwood was considering a master improvement plan for 37-acre Lynndale Park. The park was currently the city's largest. About two-thirds of it was undeveloped. Located adjacent to Lynndale Elementary School, the park was near the Lynnwood boundary with Edmonds.
