That security of mind is being offered free at Homeward Pet Adoption Center.
The adoption center is offering "free microchips for fall" for your cat or dog.
The microchips will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Homeward Pet, 13132 NE 177th Place, Woodinville.
The chips will be distributed as long as the supply lasts. All animals brought in for microchips must be spayed or neutered.

Each chip has a unique number and is registered in a national database with the owner's name, address and contact information. Homeward Pet will include free registration of each microchip during this two-day event, according to press material about the event.
Homeward Pet Adoption Center is a nonprofit, no-kill shelter in business since 1990. For more information go to www.homewardpet.org.
