Morinaga was assisted in the Knights victory by Alyssanne Van Dyke's 14 kills and nine digs and Whitney Naber's six kills on the night.
Wildcats head coach Andrew Ness was sure to give several reasons as to why King's looked so good, not only against his team but on the entire season.
"It's two-fold really," said Ness. "Rachel (Morinaga) is a good sophomore hitter, with fast good hands. She really makes that team go. Really as a team though they have good overall hitters that are really good at setting and hitting."
Archbishop Murphy made a final attempt in the third set to make a comeback, taking advantage of numerous Knights errors in the set before finally falling.
Ness gave credit to his teams valient effort by saying, "Our team reminds me of the ('98) Mariners. We play small, we have no big guns or get big numbers. We just spread it around real well."
Angelina DeGrazia and Madeline Johnson led the Wildcats with 10 digs a piece in the loss.
The game also provided the backdrop for the annual Dig for the Cure. A charity event that raises money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and breast cancer awareness.
"It was really great that we could hold this event tonight against King's, our biggest rival," added Ness. "We coordinated with them, both teams wore shirts and our bake sale raised $600 for Susan G. Komen tonight."
