Regarding your editorial endorsement against Initiative 1185: Your point about the majority’s ability to create a tax loophole and a supermajority to overturn it is well taken, except for if the legislators are so stupid they create tax breaks (or purposely create loopholes) without a sunset clause that allows the tax break or loophole to expire automatically, it would seem to indicate a certain level of incompetence or malfeasance.
