EVERETT — Cascade used its defensive pressure but failed to convert on early scoring opportunites as the Bruins battled Kamiak to a scoreless draw in a Wesco 4A South battle.
For Bruins goalie Rachel Leupold, it was her seventh shutout of the season and fifth in her past six games.
“Our defense had been playing great,” said Cascade head coach Jamie Gay. “We gave up no shots on goal, and offensively we played great for the first 20 minutes by kicking the ball around and keeping possession throughout the game.”
Gay also gave credit to his two centerbacks Emily Nelson and Mikayla Whitton.
“Emily and Mikayla cover so much ground that we’re able to quickly put people under pressure,” added Gay. “We’ve got four senior starting defenders and a senior goalie that take a lot of pride in what they do.”
