The pigtail girl on the Wendy’s logo has gotten a makeover, as part of the fast food chain’s attempt to reinvent itself as a more upscale eatery in the mold of Panera Bread and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Wendy’s executives say focus groups balked at extreme new looks for the pigtail girl, but that garish red hair color looks pretty punk-rock to The Buzz. And those freckles could actually be piercings or tattoos, for all we know.
