Saturday night the Tips received a taste of their own medicine.
The Regina Pats scored twice in two minutes late in the third period as the Pats rallied from a two-goal deficit to drop the Tips 4-3.
Everett, playing the second game of its six-game road trip through the WHL's East Division, led 3-1 midway through the second period. But Regina scored the game's final three goals to win it.
Chandler Stephenson scored the tying goal with 6 minutes, 25 seconds remaining in regulation, then Dyson Stevenson scored the winner 1:16 later.
Morgan Klimchuk and Luke Fenske also scored for Regina (5-5-1-0), and Teagan Sacher earned his first career win with 21 saves in goal.
Reid Petryk, Trent Lofthouse and Joshua Winquist scored for Everett (2-6-0-1). Daniel Cotton stopped 23 shots in goal for the Tips.
Everett enforcer Lucas Grayson faces a potential suspension as he was given a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct early in the second period for checking to the head.
The Tips took a 3-2 lead into the third period and held it for more than 13 minutes. However, the Pats turned it in an instant. Stephenson scored on the power play, converting a backdoor feed from Lane Scheidl to tie it. Then Stevenson gave Regina the lead shortly after, coming away free with the puck from the corner and scoring under Cotton.
Everett found itself playing from behind just 24 seconds into the game. The Tips were unable to clear the defensive zone, and Klimchuk scored on his second attempt to give the Pats an instant 1-0 lead.
However, the Tips rallied and grabbed the lead before the period was over. Petryk tied it on the power play when he found a lane toward goal and put a shot into the top corner at 6:23. Then Lofthouse made it 2-1 at 13:00, creating a turnover on the forecheck and scoring himself.
After Grayson was ejected early in the second, the Tips killed off the five-minute power play without allowing a scoring chance, then quickly made it 3-1 as Winquist scored straight from Ty Mappin's face-off win at 10:08.
But Regina gained momentum later in the second and pulled back within one at 14:56 as Fenske, the trailer on the rush, put home a rebound.
