Camano fire district budget talks: The Camano Island fire district plans several public meetings regarding next year's budget.
The district expects to make about $1 million in cuts due to decreased revenues, Assistant Chief Levon Yengoyan said. The district also is working to rebuild its volunteer force.
The meetings are held at 7 p.m. at the Madrona Fire Station, 273 N. West Camano Drive.
The draft budget will be posted before the public hearing planned for Oct. 29. The final meeting is scheduled for Nov. 13.
