Teen in hospital after car crashes into tree

STANWOOD -- A teenager was flown to a local hospital Monday after a car he was in slammed into a tree, officials said.
The boy, 16, was injured in the one-vehicle crash that occurred around 11:15 a.m. in the 31100 block of 76th Avenue NW, Snohomish County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
The driver and another passenger were able to escape the vehicle with minor injuries.
Traffic was reduced to one lane while sheriff's detectives investigated.
