I cannot believe what has been forgotten by voters in just four short years.
I find it amazing more voters don’t remember what condition our country was in when President Obama took office, or which political party’s president put us there. Have you forgotten what Obama inherited when he became President? Is your memory so short you don’t remember where this recession began, and why?
President Obama has spent the past four years trying to clean up Bush’s mess, repeatedly hitting the brick wall that is a Republican Congress. In spite of this he has made progress; slow, steady progress. Can you tell me what will happen if Romney takes office? When he reverses all of the progress that’s been made in our country? When Romney has the power to toss women (right to choose), children (education), our elderly (Medicare voucher system), for starters, under the bus? Where is that going to leave you?
Stop. Think. If another Republican takes control of the White House, especially now, what do you think is going to happen? Will Romney wave his magic wand (the one he uses to make that annoying “47 percent” disappear) and make it all better? The economy is not going to improve overnight. Romney will step on the fingers of the middle class as we cling to the edge and laugh as we slide into the abyss.
I fear for the future of our country in the hands of Governor Romney. If I may borrow a phrase from the Republican who is actually responsible for this mess, now is the time to “stay the course.”
