Prep boys tennis: 1A District 1 Tournament

LANGLEY -- South Whidbey tennis player Jack Hood advanced to the 1A Tri-District Tournament after Docavie Vendiola from Lummi Nation beat Friday Harbor's Sean Hills in the third-fourth place match on Saturday in the 1A District 1 Tournament. Hood, who beat Vendiola earlier in the tournament, automatically finished second to earn the final singles berth. Hood joins teammate Guy Sparkman in qualifying for next week's tournament in Seattle. Also advancing for the Falcons were the doubles teams of Taylor Simmons and Jonathon Peterson, and Charley Stelling and Mitchell Hughes. South Whidbey won the overall team title at the district tournament.
