Police surround Everett building for reportedly suicidal woman

UPDATE: The woman was found, taken into protective police custody and transported to the hospital. No other injuries reported.

Folks have been calling the newsroom today asking about police activity in the area of 52nd Street SE and Evergreen Way.

Someone called 911 late this morning to report a possibly suicidal woman who was armed, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said.

Police have surrounded the area and are trying to make contact with the woman, he said. As of 2 p.m., it still was unclear if anyone was in the home.

The size of the response was a safety precaution, Snell said.

We'll try to get an update before the day is out.

As of 2 p.m., no injuries were reported, and no call-out was made for the SWAT team, though a police robot is being used to search the area.

Drivers may want to take alternate routes.
