Learn about prominent broadcaster Don McCune
Don McCune is known for his portrayal of Captain Puget and also for the documentary series, "Exploration Northwest." The slides capture the best of "Exploration Northwest," including behind-the-scenes commentary and information about historical episodes.
Captain Puget sang sea chanteys and included short film clips and cartoons. The show was broadcast weekdays from 1957 to 1966 on KOMO-TV.
"Exploration Northwest" introduced Northwest history and heritage to viewers from 1960 to 1981. He wrote and narrated more than 400 episodes and won 26 Emmy Awards for documentary excellence.
After his death in 1993, Linda McCune established the Don McCune Library to preserve his works on DVD, CD and in books.
