Prep boys tennis: 4A District 1 Tournament

MILL CREEK — The Wesco 4A boys district tennis tournament was postponed due to rain prior to the start of the second round. In singles play, Cascade’s Patrick Chung defeated Grant Schultz and will play the winner of the only unfinished first-round match between Mount Vernon’s Jeffrey Levine and Kamiak’s Joseph Lee. Lee leads Levine 3-1 in the third set after the two split the first two sets. Snohomish’s Andrew Ivelia advanced to the semifinals and will play Jackson’s Ben Mietzner when play continues today at 1 p.m. In doubles, Edmonds-Woodway’s Dylan Merrill and Jason Smarr play Jackson’s Everet Wang and James Okubo and Kamiak’s Colin Kim and Sung Yu play Jackson’s Peter Cung and Grant Follis in the semifinals.
