ASOTIN -- The estranged husband of a missing Clarkston woman remains jailed in Asotin after pleading not guilty Wednesday to an assault charge for an incident that happened before Rachael Anderson disappeared in April 2010.

KHQ reported that the judge denied a request to reduce the $1 million bond for Charles Capone.

Capone has been investigated but not charged in the disappearance of Anderson. Police believe the 40-year-old mother of four was killed.

Capone was recently released from federal custody after serving time for a firearms violation.
