SEATTLE -- The city of Seattle is considering eliminating the regulation that requires taxi cab drivers to wear neat and clean clothes and to be well-groomed and without offensive body odor.
Taxi drivers tell KOMO-TV the city doesn't set grooming and hygiene standards for other workers and they shouldn't be singled out. They also say it's in their own interests to give passengers a pleasant experience.
The proposed change will be discussed at a city council hearing on budget-related issues on Thursday evening at City Hall.
