Prep girls soccer: King's 2, Meridian 0

SHORELINE -- Beth Stella had a goal and assist to lead King's to victory in the second round of the District 1 girls soccer tournament. Stella scored with just four minutes elapsed when she took a pass from Maddie Nettles between two defenders and dribbled the ball in from a yard out. At the start of the second half Stella headed a ball from Olivia Baker to Anna Parker who put it in the corner of the goal for the 2-0 lead. The Championship game is 1 p.m. today at King's H.S. between the Knights and the winner of Blaine/Lynden Christian
At Woolsey Stadium
Goals--Beth Stella (K), Anna Parker (K). Assists--Maddie Nettles (K), Stella. Goalkeepers--Meridian: Abbi Rautenberg. King's: Takara Mitsui. Records--Meridian 8-6-3 overall. King's 14-2-0.
