Prep boys soccer: Mount Vernon Christian 4, Orcas Island 0

MOUNT VERNON -- Mount Vernon Christian booked a trip to the 1B/2B state tournament with a win over Orcas Island. Seth Parman and Jonathan deHaan scored the first two Hurricanes' goals, both on Caleb Riley assists. James Hurd added the third in the 61st minute and deHaan capped the scoring with his second goal in the 65th. Mount Vernon Christian will face the winner of Providence Classical Christian-Tacoma Baptist on Wednesday at Everett Memorial Stadium in the semifinals of the Bi-District 1B/2B tournament.

Goals--Seth Parman (MVC), Jonathan deHaan (MVC) 2, James Hurd (MVC). Assists--Caleb Riley (MVC) 2, Tyler Houtsma (MVC). Goalkeepers--Orcas Island: not reported. Mount Vernon Christian: Jesse Ketcham. Records--Orcas Island 8-8 overall. Mount Vernon Christian 16-1.
