Karl Johnson, a third-generation master silhouette artist, will be doing hand-cut portraits at Bee Bops & Lollipops in Snohomish on Nov. 15. Johnson creates each portrait freehand by simply looking at a subject's profile. It only takes him one to two minutes.
Johnson is blind in one eye, and without binocular vision he learned to judge distance by examining shadows.
He's cut silhouettes for guest at places like the National Portrait Gallery, Universal Studios and 20th Century Fox.

The silhouette is mounted on a 5x7 card for $25. Duplicates are $15, and framing is available for $16.
