Invites will be arriving soon, and the rush to find the perfect holiday party outfit will be on.
But party attire doesn't have to be a one-hit wonder.
This year, try saving your pennies for presents instead of a fancy party frock, says stylist Molly Bingaman, owner of Ladybird Styling in Kansas City, Mo.
"You don't have to go buy a cocktail dress," Bingaman said. "Sometimes they look goofy in winter, anyway."
Bingaman recommends shopping your closet for party wear. She often pairs bold accessories and shoes with everyday attire to give it a little sparkle. Shine, texture and sleeves are non-negotiable for Bingaman when putting together a party ensemble.
Her favorite holiday colors for 2012 are burgundy and the beloved standby, black.
