Tacoma man arrested in assault, robbery at Everett market

EVERETT -- A Tacoma man, 21, was arrested Saturday in connection with a violent robbery, Oct. 27 at a north Everett grocery store.
Everett police allege that the man walked into Ron's Market along 16th Street and hit the cashier, a 60-year-old woman, in the head with a pipe twice.
He then reportedly smashed the cash register and fled with about $250.
Tips helped lead police to a suspect, court papers show.
The man was being held Monday at Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery.
The victim was hospitalized after the attack but was expected to recover from her injuries, according to police.
