The crowd assembled inside a ballroom at the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle erupts into cheers as CNN announces that President Obama will win reelection Tuesday evening.

Election Day was as exciting in Washington state as it was around the nation. As Barack Obama was winning a second term, state voters were watching the results of some big races. In early returns, gay marriage was passing, voters supported legalizing marijuana and charter schools could become reality in the state. Some of the contests were settled, Suzan DelBene won her race, while other are still too close to call. The governor's race is still up in the air.
