SNOHOMISH — The Seattle-Snohomish Mill Co. has reopened after being closed for eight months. President and property owner Bob Waltz confirmed that the sawmill opened this week. He declined to give more information.
The mill had been a staple of the city for 70 years. When it closed in March, 50 people lost their jobs. It couldn’t be determined whether those employees have been rehired.
The mill, at 9525 Airport Way, announced in January it was closing in large part because of the collapse of the housing and construction industry.
