Winter helmet offer
Discounted winter sports helmets are for sale at the Marysville Fire District.
The helmets are designed to prevent head injuries during winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding and tubing, Marysville Fire Marshal Tom Maloney said.
The helmet sizes available fit children and most adults. They are $25 each and have lined padding and ear covers.
The helmets are provided through a partnership between the fire district and Safe Kids Snohomish County. Neither organization profits from the sales.

Attention Island County folks: As many as five seats on the Island County Marine Resources Committee will be open for new appointments or reappointments effective Dec. 31.
The voluntary, advisory committee works to preserve and restore marine life, habitat and water quality along the county’s 212 miles of shoreline. The 16 member committee meets twice a month.
