Author’s experiences shape work with teens

Spending a few days at Denney Juvenile Justice Center was enough for 15-year-old Steve Hanna back in 2004.
He shaped up and become salutatorian of his high school class and graduated with honors from the University of Idaho.
He's going back to Denney on Thursday, this time to thank the workers who made a difference in his life and to speak to at-risk teens.
He'll talk about his life and about his new book.
"A Home Called Your Own: A Journey Across Six Generations" is a nonfiction story of a pact his ancestors made 125 years ago.
Reservations, based on available space, are required to attend the 3:30 p.m. session. Email kathy.haggerty@snoco.org.
Hanna, who lives in Idaho, is doing a book tour in Washington. He also speaks to schools and youth organizations to challenge and inspire teens.
