Where to find your Christmas tree

From the woodsy scent that fills your home to the time spent with family picking out just the right one, there’s just no substitute for a fresh Christmas tree.

This weekend, most local U-cut farms are open, and many offer something festive to enjoy while you take your pick.

Visit with Santa at Carnation Tree Farm or take free family photos in decorated cabins at Wintergreen Tree Farm in Snohomish.

Enjoy free cocoa and candy canes while you feed carrots to horses at Twin Lakes Tree Farm in Arlington, or stroll through the Christmas gift and ornament shop at Seven Springs Tree Farm in Granite Falls.

Campbell Tree Farm: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays until sold out; 12219 Springhetti Road, Snohomish; 360-568-8826, www.campbelltreefarm.com. U-cut and precut trees available: noble, grand, Fraser and Nordmann firs; $40 to $75.

Carnation Tree Farm: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays through Dec. 16 at 31523 NE 40th St., Carnation; 425-333-4510, www.carnationtreefarm.com. Noble, Douglas, Fraser, Nordmann, Turkish, Korean and grand firs, and Norway and blue spruce. Kettle corn, a bake sale, and Santa will be at the farm from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends now through Dec. 2.

Country Farms Christmas Trees: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Dec. 22 at 480 S. Burlington Blvd., Burlington; 360-755-0488, www.country farmsmarket.com. Noble, grand and Douglas firs. Flocked trees available in various colors. Custom flocking orders also accepted. Wreaths, mistletoe, tree stands and garland available.
