Same-sex marriage

Opening early for licenses unneeded

So the decision has been made to open up at midnight on Dec. 6 to allow same sex couples to obtain marriage licenses. (Nov. 15 article, "King County office to open early for gay marriage licenses.") And they still have the three day waiting period to get married as do heterosexual couples. Who in the hell is approving this abuse of overtime pay! They, both same sex and male/female marriage applicants, should have to do business as usual without causing you and me, the taxpayers, to foot the bill as a celebratory acceptance of gay/lesbian marriage. I am not incensed about the marriages, only the abuse of overtime in a difficult financial crisis.
