Stealth add five, including Seattle All-American Snider
Stealth also add veteran NLL goalkeeper Nick Patterson
The National Lacrosse League's Washington Stealth added five players on Wednesday, including O'Dea High School's Drew Snider and veteran NLL goalkeeper Nick Patterson.
The Stealth also signed forward Mark Negrin, defenseman Mitch McMichael and defenseman Ben McCullough to one-year deals. All five players were among the 43 prospects that competed in Stealth's try-out camps this past Saturday and Sunday in Arlington and Everett.
Snider played his college lacrosse with Maryland and has experience playing for Denver of Major League Lacrosse. In four seasons with the Terrapins he scored 49 goals and dished 65 assists. Snider has always been a standout in field lacrosse, but will try his hand at box lacrosse with the Stealth.
Patterson was the goalkeeper with the Minnesota Swarm from 2005-11 before sitting out the 2012 season. In his final season with the Swarm he had an 11.08 goals against average and a .768 save percentage.
All five players will join the Stealth when they start training camp Dec. 1 in Arlington. Training camp continues through the front half of December until the team must trim its roster to 23 players and three practice-roster spots on Dec. 20.
The Stealth open the season on Jan. 5 at home against the Rochester Knighthawks.
