Hellcat gets an electrical upgrade

Right now, Flying Heritage Collection's F6F-5 Hellcat is getting an electrical upgrade. Actually, it's more of a careful downgrade. Over the fighter's career, it has been a night fighter equipped with radar, a remote-controlled drone modified to fly without a pilot, and a civilian warbird that crossed the Atlantic. As a result, the aircraft has a mass of abandoned circuits and equipment in its belly and wings.

Currently, electricians are going through the airframe and restoring the basic wiring appropriate to its WWII fighter configuration.
