This day is dedicated to giving thanks for all that we have. However, do we ever think of being thankful for some of our adversities? Perhaps we should reflect on what the bumps in the road of life have done for us! For example, automobiles would not need “shock absorbers” if all the streets were smooth. Life is a bit like that, it seems that we are constantly faced with bumpy challenges, some small and some seemingly overwhelming.
This is where the human shock absorber comes in, it’s called “courage.” When we stand up to problems and look for solutions using our human shock absorber, more often than not we resolve most problems and become stronger for overcoming them…. So, if conquering challenges makes us a better person, maybe God has planned it that way and maybe we should see the bumps as opportunity to strengthen our faith and give us the courage to continue on the path of life with an ever greater resolve. Some things, God wants us to have, other things he chooses that we do not have. Thanks be to God either way!
