The small convent of Orthodox Christian nuns supports itself by making 100 percent beeswax candles. As the candles burn, they give off a sweet honey scent, clean the air naturally and relieve allergies.
Everyone who visits is invited on a free tour, where you can make your own candle. The annual event opens at noon today.
Hours are noon-7 p.m. Fridays, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. through Dec. 22. Call the convent to arrange a weekday visit.
The convent is located at 29206 64th Ave NW, Stanwood.
