A: I wake up very early and feed our horses at the barn. Then I go to all my classes. I love all of my classes this year. Now that volleyball season is over, I have a lot of free time. I usually have some meeting to go to. I do homework, and I sleep a lot.
Q: What classes are you taking?
A: I have four (advanced placement) classes, so the coursework is very interesting. I have AP Spanish, AP government, AP statistics and AP Western literature.
Q: Why are you taking these classes?
A: I like to challenge myself. I also like to be around people who value education.
Q: What are your career goals?
A: I am not sure yet. I'm leaning in pursuing a career in math or science, but I may get a career in communications because I love public speaking. I want to get a minor in Spanish.
Q: What clubs do you belong to at school?
A: I am the president of the Honor Society. I'm also Link Crew commissioner where I help the program by organizing events such as fundraisers. I am also an ASB class representative.
Q: I understand you play volleyball and your team went to state?
A: It was awesome. Everybody on the team had not been to a state championship before. It was so exciting. People thought we were not going to make it, but that inspired us.
Q: What's your position?
A: I am a setter. I love it. It's like being a quarterback. I like being in a leadership position.
Q: You also compete in track. Right?
A: I usually do 100 meter hurdles. I also do high jump and javelin throw. Last year, I qualified for district and bi-district. I am hoping to qualify for state this year.
Q: Do you have any hobbies?
A: I'd say horseback riding. It's a great pastime of mine. I have been showing horses for six years. I have been involved in the 4-H program and doing horse knowledge contests. We qualified for nationals and went to Kentucky in 2010. It was an awesome experience.
Q: What else do you do for fun?
A: I spend time with my friends by hanging out together.
Q: Do you like reading?
A: I love reading. James Patterson is one of my favorite authors. I can't pinpoint one of my favorite books.
Q: What are your plans for college?
A: I'm not sure yet which college to go. I applied to Harvard. It's my first choice. Stanford and Vanderbilt are the others of my top three schools. I want to go out of the state to experience something new.
Q: Why did you choose those schools?
A: The schools have a program that you don't have to declare a major right away. I am hoping to get into a classroom of a certain area, feel inspired and find a passion. I like to shop around and see what I am interested in, or something that stands out for me.
Q: What can you tell me about your family?
A: I have an older sister who is a freshman at WSU and a younger sister who is a freshman at this school. My older sister is studying biomedical engineer. I hope I could live up to her greatness. She is one of the people who inspired me the most because of her high goals.
My family is a little crazy. We find humor in everything. In dinner conversations, we end up laughing. I love being around my family.
