Local history buff to discuss early gold mines

Local history expert and civil engineer Bill Lider will present a talk about the Monte Cristo gold mines tonight in Mountlake Terrace.

Lider will illustrate his colorful history talk with a slide show and share information and stories starting with the 1880s, when John D. Rockefeller launched his railroad and the Mountain Loop Highway was started.

His talk includes information on the current situation of the area.

The program will runs from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace.

Admission is free.
