Restore faith with 'forever' bricks

I was appalled to see the forever bricks in front of the Everett Performing Arts Center had been removed. I personally spent many volunteer hours at the Everett Mall and local ballgames selling these bricks to help raise money to build the building housing the Everett Performing Arts. I sold these bricks in good faith that they would always be there.

A lot of bricks were bought in memory of loved ones. I am sure a lot of families who bought these bricks are unhappy to see that they have been removed. I, too, bought a brick with my name and told my children and grandchildren where my brick was located so they could see it after I'm gone.

I was told that there is a list of names which will be put on a plaque at a later date. I cannot figure out why these bricks were tossed, as they were unable to remove them without breaking them. We can send a man to the moon and can't figure out how to preserve these bricks. It is almost like removing all stones from a cemetery and putting their names on plaques. I have heard many complaints regarding the removal of these bricks while I am ushering at performances.
