LAKE STEVENS -- A Seattle police officer was arrested at his Lake Stevens-area home Tuesday night after allegedly assaulting his estranged wife.
Snohomish County sheriff's deputies were called to the home south of the lake about 10:18 p.m. for a domestic disturbance, according to the arrest report released by the Seattle Police Department.
The woman told police her husband had shoved her and kicked her.
The man, 41, denied the assault. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of fourth-degree domestic-violence assault. He was released Wednesday on personal recognizance.
Seattle police also plan an internal investigation. The officer has been reassigned from his post in the special operations bureau since his arrest.
