Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said Wednesday that 45-year-old David Watson was driving around south Tacoma, looking for his dog when he encountered the teens. Lindquist said they demanded money, then shot Watson, who died a few hours later.
A lawyer for one teen entered a not guilty plea on his behalf Wednesday. Bail was set at $1 million. An arrest warrant has been issued for the second teen.
Lindquist said the two youths, in his words, "committed adult-sized crimes and will be prosecuted as adults."
