Abandoned house catches fire in Monroe
Monroe firefighters battled a fire in an abandoned house Friday morning.
No one was hurt in the fire reported about 4:15 a.m. in the 14600 block of Old Snohomish-Monroe Road, Monroe Fire Marshal Mike Fitzgerald said.
People could see flames from more than a mile away, he said.
The house was behind locked fences, and had live power lines, slowing firefighting efforts.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
