SPOKANE VALLEY — A Spokane County sheriff’s spokesman says an aerial search has found the car of a 71-year-old Spokane Valley man missing for a week, and a body was located about a quarter mile away.
The Spokesman-Review said the county medical examiner’s office will identify the body.
Earlier Friday, Deputy Craig Chamberlin said the sheriff’s helicopter planned to search a rural area near Elk, where Samuel Counts lived about 20 years ago.
Authorities said Counts has dementia and has been missing since he left his home to buy bread on Nov. 23.
