Holiday specials

Even more on PBS, local performances

The Everett Herald's long, impressive listing of holiday TV specials on Tuesday leaves out one important segment. For programming that centers exclusively on the original Christmas event, there are more options.
Christmas at Luther, Tidings of Comfort and Joy, will be aired on KTCS, Channel 9, at 8 p.m. Dec. 23, at 10 p.m. Dec. 24, and at 3 a.m. Dec. 25. Nearly 600 beautiful young performers, in six choirs, orchestra, handbell ensemble, and organ will present a stunning array of wondrous music. A previously televised performance of Luther's Christmas concert won an Emmy Award.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will be shown by Channel 9 at 9 p.m. Dec. 24, at 2 a.m. Dec. 25.
A very special live, local performance of Advent and Christmas music will be offered, free, by the choir of Trinity Lutheran College, at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Everett, and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lynnwood.
