Same-sex marriage

God's position hasn't changed

Same-sex couples in Washington will be no more married on Dec. 9 than they are today. The 53 percent who voted to approve R-74 will not change God's position on this issue. Homosexuality (and a host of other things) will always be a sin and marriage will always be between one man and one woman. People are fooling themselves if they believe God will ever approve of sin or anything which goes against His Word. The 1.43 million Washingtonians who voted against these unions will respect the legal right of gay couples to wed, but they more than likely will not acknowledge them as being "married".
For most people this is a heart issue and spiritual matter but not one of hate so let's not go there. God is slow to anger and quick to forgive but His forgiveness involves turning away from sin and to Him. God loves you and Jesus died for you but He has also given every human free will to choose or reject Him. The decision is ours; He has already done His part.
God has a holy standard which He will not compromise. Has society become so blinded they think a majority vote from citizens will change God's mind? Does He have an eraser to blot out standards and moral guidelines to fit in with social change? The Bible is clear and Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
