Paper money

Coins are cheaper, so let's convert

SHARE: facebook Twitter icon Linkedin icon Google+ icon Email icon |  PRINTER-FRIENDLY
Regarding Saturday's article on getting rid of the paper dollar: If this move can save the taxpayers that much money ($4.4 billion over 30 years), then what's the question? It's time to get with it and join the rest of the Western world and gain the financial benefit of "all coin" money.
As for the ridiculous argument from Rep. Lacy Clay that "men don't like carrying a bunch of coins around in their pockets or suits"; first of all, many to most men are using debit or credit cards, and for those that don't have that option? Get a man purse!
