Sign up for Weekend to-do list
Laura Ellen, the author of "Blind Spot," a young adult thriller, will sign books at Edmonds Bookshop at noon Saturday.

Ellen drew from her own experiences as a youngster with macular degeneration to craft this story about a visually impaired girl who is coping with her disability while trying to find the killer of her friend.

The author's debut novel sends a message to teens with disabilities about learning to accept themselves and to learn to conquer the anger and denial they may be experiencing.

"Blind Spot" lists at $16.99. For more about the book and the author, see her website at www.lauraellenboosk.com.

Edmonds Bookshop is at 111 Fifth Ave. Call 425-775-2789 for information or see www.edmondsbookshop.com.
