Foster family event

Thanks to Carter and his generous heart

The Catholic Community Services Family and Children's Services program held our annual foster family Christmas party on Dec. 2 at the Imagine Children's Museum in Everett. Almost 70 children and adults attended and enjoyed the opportunity to play in the kid friendly museum. Every child received a special stocking with a stuffed animal, gifts and candy.
Our program staff would like to thank one little boy in particular for his generous heart in reaching out to children placed in foster care. Lanay Hendricks contacted our program regarding her 8-year-old son, Carter, who had been saving his money for awhile for something very special for himself. He recently decided he wanted to buy gifts for children who were unable to be home to celebrate the holidays with their families. Lanay and Carter, as well as Lanay's other two children, Owen and Amelia, went shopping for candy, trinkets, nail polish, Magic cards, etc. On Nov. 28 Lanay and her three children came to our office and helped stuff the Christmas stockings! We were so happy they were also able to attend the Christmas party and had a wonderful time with the other families.
It is an honor to celebrate Carter's open heart and giving spirit with all of our children in care. Thank you, Carter!
We wish Carter, his family and all our foster families a very Merry Christmas.
