SEATTLE — Holiday thieves have stolen more than $6,000 worth of toys that a Seattle YWCA was planning to give to needy children.
Seattle police said staff at the Central District YWCA discovered Monday that the toys were gone from a storage room. They’re not sure when the toys were taken.
YWCA community resource coordinator Nichelle Hilton is wondering how the organization can collect enough toys to pass out by next Monday, when the Christmas celebration is planned.
The shelter is accepting replacement toys for children and teens.
