STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's New Year's Eve matchup against No. 14 Gonzaga is looking like a sellout, thanks to T. Boone Pickens.

The billionaire oilman and Oklahoma State alumnus bought up the remaining 4,000 tickets and will offer them for free to Cowboys fans beginning Wednesday. He says he hopes Oklahoma State fans will pack the arena for the game.

Pickens says buying the tickets will "put a great exclamation point on a promising OSU basketball season."

The No. 23 Cowboys (7-1) are 317-45 at home since 1988.
