"Sidney's got a sore foot," Carroll said. "He's got a bruised foot that we didn't know about until after the weekend. He's in a boot today and we'll see what happens."
Asked if that meant Rice's availability for Sunday is in doubt, Carroll said, "Well right now, because he's still in a boot, yes he is. Until we can see him get out there—he improved quite a bit in the last couple of days—but he's got a pretty sore foot, so we don't know. He's already been X-rayed and MRI'd and the findings are noting to keep him from playing, he just has to get back. He feels very sore right now."
So what does that mean at Rice's spot if he can't play?
"We'll roll all of our guys through it. Charly (Martin) steps up right now and will jump into the mix, but we'll just move our guys around for plays and situations and things like that. We do that anyway, but a little bit more so."
Linebacker Leroy Hill (ankle) will practice this week, but Carroll said Hill and Malcolm Smith, who has started the past two games, are competing for a starting job. Also competing for playing time are guards John Moffitt and J.R. Sweezy, who split time at right guard last weekend.
Cornerback Marcus Trufant is still recovering from a hamstring injury and won't practice, Carroll said.
Oh, and in some very important news, the Seahawks announced they will debut their new "Wolf Grey" uniforms in Toronto.
