Vote for Girls Basketball Player of the Week, Dec. 10-15
Eds. note: The Herald's Basketball Player of the Week is tallied by combining the winner of the fan voting along with votes by Herald staffers who attended games last week. Voting ends at 9 p.m. Monday night.
Here's a look at the nominees:
• Meadowdale's Mackenzie Bretz scored 17 points and hit a key free throw as the Mavericks hung on to beat Glacier Peak in a key Wesco 3A South game
• Arlington's Lindsay Brown had a game-high 18 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Eagles beat Lake Stevens to remain unbeaten
• Archbishop Murphy's Beth Carlson scored 15 points in a win over Granite Falls and scored 12 points in a win over King's as the Wildcats remained tied for first place
• Lynnwood's Jordyn Edwards scored 12 points in each of the Royals' wins over Jackson and Edmonds-Woodway to give the Royals control of the Wesco 4A South
• Cedarcrest's Kalee Fowler scored 18 points in a win over South Whidbey and 21 in a win over Sultan as the Red Wolves improved to 7-0
• Snohomish's Callie Harwood scored 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and had a key offensive rebound late in the Panthers' win over Lake Stevens
• Tulalip Heritage's Adiya Jones-Smith scored 20 points in each of the Hawks' wins over Grace Academy and Lummi remained unbeaten in league play
• Stanwood's Sierra Palmer had 15 points in a win over Stanwood and 12 in a win over Marysville Getchell as the Spartans swept the Marysville schools
• Everett's Sidney Rielly scored 31 points in a win over Marysville Getchell and had 20 in a win over Oak Harbor as Everett got its first two league wins
• Shorewood's Masha Shtikel scored 21 and 22 points in wins over Meadowdale and Mountlake Terrace, respectively, as the Thunderbirds took over first place in the Wesco 3A South
