Heavy snowfall in the Cascades is making things miserable for drivers at Stevens Pass. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, there is compact snow and ice on the road, and travelers can expect gusty winds and patches of poor visibility. Chains are required on all vehicles without all-wheel drive. Meteorologist Ted Buehner in Seattle told the Associated Press that accumulations from the storm that started Sunday are likely to total 2 to 3 feet in the Washington Cascades by Tuesday morning. You can keep an eye on conditions at Stevens Pass here.
